Got out a little bit today and started gettin after some of the oak limbs I've cut up so far. Got the tractor out and moved some snow and laid down some old trailer decking boards to stack on.
Got after a little bit more today, ended up finishing the bottom row. About 29 feet between by two trees, according to the cord calculator on here, I'll be about 1.4 if I stack 4 ft high.
Worked a tank of gas through the splitter this morning, then hand split some of the bigger rounds that I cant pick up. They break eventually but definitely not like the dead red oak im used to
Been filling totes the past week, and stacked the rest of a cord of maple/ash/cherry/poplar thatll get moved to the pole barn next fall. Filled 2 totes of the big oak that just got dropped here and 1 of a maple/locust mix.
Oh its muddy enough out there, just has been cold enough its mostly frozen. We had some warm days and I tore up the ground pretty bad, ill have to do some ground work next warm up
Same here. I mudded up my path to the shed last Friday with several trips with the wheelbarrow. Walked it slowly to tamp down what I could.
Its definitely mud season. I got the snow plow off the tractor and swapped to the back blade and did a little bit of dirt work out at the wood lot.
This is my 3rd year here, I have taken 2-3 here each year, and have a buddy who might take one depending on how his other spots are
Great pictures of your work and place. That is a big deer stand, I like it. Good job on that big oak. They did a good job dropping it and missing the fence.
The previous owners built 2 real nice tower blinds on the property, I've really enjoyed hunting out of them. The fence behind the wood stack is whats left of a hog pen, I just use it to stack against now.
