Good point. I have extras for most of the common use bars, but a few are on other saws and bars at home and not on the cut site. :emb: Ill take an inventory and buy a couple. Is there a cheap source for chains online? I usually browse ebay and find deals.

I was a lot easier when i owned one saw with one bar and would rotate two chains. See what CAD has done to me! :picard:

Yeah I thought about that just after I posted it. I would like to maybe get a 100 ft roll and start making my own loops someday but that’s a pretty good chunk of change for me right now, although I’m sure it would end up saving quite a bit of $ over time

Nice big ol piece of oak, just the way I love em!

Wait, not everyone has 3-5 loops for each bar? Guess it's the hoarding tendencies, lol!!

What size you using? I have Husky X-cut chain in 3/8" and 325 but in .050 in 100' rolls if you want me have a few loops made up for you to try. Have another 100' roll of 3/8" coming this week.

I thought I remember that you but a roll of x-cut a little while back, but now you’re on your third! Wow:makeitrain"
About how many loops can you get out of a roll? I know it varies with driver count and bar length.

The metal in that tree doesn't even scare me. I'd be happy to tackle it. Oak that big doesn't grow anywhere near where I live. There are big Oak trees in the city elevations in Colorado, but they are highly regarded and not accessible to hoarders.

    I've bought a couple 25' rolls of 3/8 & .325. I need to get a roll of 3/8LP for the small saws...

3/8" is 1640 and 325 is 1848 links each. HL Supply runs sales on it from time to time. PM me if you want a few loops to try. One of my friends makes them from my supply.
