Big Bad Wood

Any one watching this? I just discovered the show last week and set a timer on dvr for it so this is the first episode I have seen. I am watching it right now. Its the third week of it, and that's the show I'm watching, episode3. Its a show about tree services in the North east and is on natgeo channel. Shows some foo climbing and saws.

 

Seen last week's ep,the 2nd one.Missed last night's ep though.was tired & totally spaced it off.Its pretty interesting what I seen so far.Hopefully it wont go the route of Ax Men & so many of the other shows with way too much manufactured drama & other stupid BS.Seen a few eps of Mountain Men late this past season for the first time - parts of it are pretty neat,others like that Useless (Eustace) is nothing but a whining jackazz. Tom & Rich are the best parts of that show IMO.

 

I've watched a few shows.. can't believe some of the damage they have done, crushed a car with a butt log and then last night they dropped a maple trunk and crushed a chain link fence. Not something I would be proud to show or have ever done in my career while doing tree work... Well they all have nice looking equipment... doesn't mean your good at what you do... Even the one climber doing the Box Elder was hauling up some nice rigging gear, figure 8 ascender, etc. It's a fun show to watch for sure... I found it by accident..

 

I just found it by accident too. I watch mountain men life below zero and yukon men. As a forester I use to love ax men but its so fake now! Still watch it but its fake. Likes American loggers an swamp loggers was favorite. Mountain men second season just ended and its fake as ever. First season eustice sold firewood to make ends meet. Give it to him he cut split it 6 months to a year it looked like?? But they showed chain saws. Now it only shows him with an ax and crosscut??? First season he shot a scoped rifle now he only shoots blackpowder??? He has a loan on the land for what must account for years of back taxes to amount to 40K. Plus how does a guy like that even buy 600-1000 acres?? Anyway how does every penny he makes go to the "land payment" when he has normal expenses that the money he use to make went toward,. In other words who pays what he use to use his income on, now that it all goes towards the land payment? I guess that's where the show money goes toward?

 

How about that "handcrafted" $4000 cedar strip canoe he sold to that guy in the last episode? After he paddled 17 some miles down a ''dangerous'' river to deliver it to him? WTF.He don't have a pickup with a gas tank that don't leak or what?

 

Yea I was thinking if i found a crazy to gime me $4K for it there is no way I would take it down a river with exposed rocks!!

My cousins friend and he were watching the first episode Last year and he said hey that's eustice and his last name. Now this is like a 32 yr old guy at that point. My cousin said how u know who that is.? He said that he came to the elementary school when I was in like 4th grade. He showed them how to pitçh a teepee and other stuff up and live Indian like.

I just cleaned up the last post.

Not sure if its the site or my phone but its going super slow. The cursor is like 8 characters behind sometimes more and it leaves out stuff sometimes when it gets like this.

Nope its brand new. Talk to jack he has a roku and he says they play a lot of stuff? I am a TV whore like I have said before. I will shamelessly admit I am a reality TV expert. I know it all or have watched it all.

I watched an episode and I thought it was pretty corny! I mean they had branches falling on employees a guy falling out of a tree.......I had enough and turned the channel. I told the wife that if the show didn't have sound I would probably enjoy it. Lol

 

That's cause the producers play up anythin to manufacture drama so thatt it appeals to more. This is why swamp loggers was cancelled, they would not play up drama.
