Big ash battle week!

25 or so dead Ash along perimeter of one field. Gonna drop em all for processing beginning tomorrow night and thru Thursday night since I just cut the field. Pics to follow!

Is the field your property, or does it abut yours?

 

How many cord do you figure that will be? It sounds like you’ll have wood for many years.

 

It’s my property, gonna drop as many as I can tonight and then start processing tomorrow night

 

So are only 6 in h diameter and the largest is 24 inch. So I am thinking maybe 6-8. Have some helpers coming that need wood to burn for the upcoming season. Just don’t want to see them get any further gone. They have had no canopy for 4-5 years

 

Nice. On your land, and helpers! Most of it should be good to burn this coming season. Maybe not the thickest of pieces, but a lot of it.

But oh, the multitude of small branches when they fall. Lots of kindling!

This is one side of the field, with the biggest in the far corner. We got 8 or so tonight stopping at the four stem one just right of center



Gonna process this Thursday night for one of my sons for sale loads then do another group next week. Darn things hit the ground and explode. I got the main stuff but little junk will be taken care of by the fall brush hog session. Hot and buggy, but got some done.
