:bug: Wow!!!! I hope that price is for a half dozen of them. Since when does injection molded PE cost that much?

On short production runs tooling amortization can run on the high side.

I buy plastic resin as one of my commodities. It's not cheap.

That too, but that's a simple, albeit large tooling. Probably not injection molded, but rather blow molded, which is less expensive.

Oh don’t worry I do everything in my power to keep my money in the local community. Heck I work in a small family owned hardware store that’s been here over 100 years. I just wish more people thought like we do sir.:)

Unless they did an awful lot of work cutting an expanded parasin in half that's either injection molded or thermoformed.
Still gotta amortize the tooling costs across the expected die life .

Here's my firewood sled. Used leftover 2x6's, some pallet wood and about 6 bucks of aluminum flashing underneath the runners. Works good in the snow, not so much in this mild winter where the snows a little spotty. Used it to move some ash rounds this morning. 1206191310.jpg

If you're willing to spend the kind of cash noted above, maybe give these guys a try. HDPE Trail Toboggan Kit

They have some great videos on their site, using these to make serious winter excursions into the Canadian wilderness. Been wanting to do a trip with them for years but it's been elusive. Still, the sleds can haul like nothing else.
