Best chainsaw

What model Stihl would it compare to power wise? More than the 362?

 

A 550 XP 2 to replace my J-red 2054

 

NOS Stihl 090G.

 

Title says best chainsaw, not best skiff anchor!

 

LOL. The OP asked "You’re given a blank check to buy any saw you want. What are ya buying?". That's my answer.

If the question is "...what is the best chainsaw you can buy with money being no object..." then I would be favoring a Stihl MS661R or a Makita EA7900.

 

I'd like to try out a new ms500. I do think that the stihls, especially the m tronic ones are really reduced power until after break in.

 

MS361 if you can only buy one. Great all around saw.

 

655bp, another 111s or mac 125. More modern srcarr 394/5.

 

years ago I bought the newest fuel injected atv. ran ok, no shortage of problems though. $7000 lesson learned.

Off topic, but I love the ramps on that trailer!

 

I ran the same one Jason did and closest sthil would probably be the 462. Both nice lightweight saws.

 

Thanks for that reply Steve. I read the post and then forgot to reply. Being in a Husky guy I didn’t know what to compare it too. I only run Steels at gtg’s.

 

I figured as much. Did you see Stihl recalled the 500i?

I had the trailer custom made. The ramps are rated for 7,000#s with the knee bracing. Split with spring assist

The trailer also has:
Dove tail rear
Upgraded to 5,200 # axels
Cross bracing underneath on 12" centers
ATV front ramps, (easier unloading)
