I love the Stihl 034 that I recently built! Did a timing advance and ported muffler on it, it's a little ripper!

I'm like you and couldn't decide so I updated my 353 with a 346 p/c. It needed some love anyway.
And I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a 550XP.

Yep me too. I probably have about 8 to 10 saws in that 50cc range. But I have a whole bunch in the 60cc range too and that is what gets used the most.

Yep I happen to own two of them. One I got for free because the piston and cylinder were scored bad. I put a new cylinder and piston in it and tried porting it and dropping the cylinder to bump up the compression but I screwed it up and it never ran right. So I ordered another cylinder but have not put it on yet. They are a strato saw and modifying a cylinder is just a bit different.

Best "modern" free to < $20 49cc saws ever abandoned IMHO. 026 killers and pro quality through and through for 1987. Enjoy getting scoffed at when it comes time for the charity fundraiser wood cutting events. Enough performance to make a proud new $700 saw owner walk to the other end of the deck.
