    With no regards to price/availability....

    Newest version, Stihl MS362.
    Stihl MS241, Solo 681 20"/28"+ bars
    Stihl MS241, Solo 681, Stihl 084

Throw in some sanity..... (and saws that you can actually buy new right now)

    Husqvarna 555
    Dolmar 421, Stihl MS461
    Dolmar 421, Stihl MS362C-M(2nd gen), Stihl MS661C-M)

If your wallet gets to make all the decisions....

    Dolmar 6100
Echo CS490 ($300 eBay special), Makita 6421(HD special baby!)
    Echo CS490, Dolmar 6100, ???

What's really "cheap" when we talk about 90cc saws? Find a deal on an ugly, used 066/660 or maybe 390XP if you can find one.

    1 saw - 60cc
    2 saw - 50cc and 70cc
    3 saw - light limbing saw, 50cc and 70cc
Pick your favorite flavor. All depends what you cut. A lot of big wood and a 90cc saw would be nice. Most of the trees I drop or find can be handled with my 372 with 24" bar or the other saws - a bigger saw would be a want not a need. Cheers!

I agree with you 100%. I will add that getting my MS461 (76 cc) ported and upgrading to the high-output oiler was WAY cheaper than getting a 90 cc. saw. With this saw, I've run a 32" bar with full comp chain in solid 30" oak. Every once and a while I "need" the extra horsepower and oil output, but I still most definitely "want" a 90-120 cc. saw "just because."

    1 saw - Dolmar 5100
2 saw - Dolmar 421/6400 (my current plan)
    3 saw - Dolmar 421/6100/7900

I could also work with a Stihl plan revolving around 261/362/461 or 661.

Now add in a MS201T C-M and it becomes my 4 saw plan.

Ms 180 for limbing and cutting up tops of trees. I upgraded to 16" bar and chain and it seems to cut very well
Ms 271 for felling and bucking up the tops of bigger trees
Ms 361 for when you need some power.
I'm sure a 441 or 461 would run the 25" bar much better than the 361. But for right now, I can get by

That's the two I have currently. A three saw combo would be tough choice. Not sure if I would want a small top handle like a 540 or a big 3120 or 90cc. Probably go for the big saw seeing I'm not up in a tree and the 346 is perfect as it is for limbing, I'm also planning on buying a Alaskan mill and who wouldn't want a 120cc saw??? Probably have the current combo for some time though as I don't see myself in any position to spend close to 2k on a saw I'll use a couple times a year.

If i had to go to a one saw plan it would be 372 or 461 with 20 and 28 inch bars.

I tried to answer this but gave up. I have a hard enough time trying to decide which of my toys to take out when I go cutting.
    Yes I have the C.A.D.

I firmly believe in the small, medium and large 3 saw plan, with a backup for each one!

    I'm running an 026 and 241, a red switch 036 and 360, and a 440 and 460. I just finished cutting on some hybrid popular stumps/roots with the 036 a bit ago.

Got stung by a wasp in the middle of my back too! Feb 19 in NE Ohio, that groundhog got it wrong again this year!

One big thing is finding saws that fit you best. Granted there probably isn't ever going to be a perfect fit. But with so many great options you can get close. It also looks like a theme is emerging though in a small medium large .
