There was no firewood there but when I was working at my daughter's house, I had a lot of stuff over there.
Went over this morning thinking the drywallers would be starting. Drywall delivery showed up just before 10 and the 2 guys got there a couple minutes later. I helped unload the truck, but they won't start until tomorrow, so SIL and I took the opportunity to do some final foaming and fixing a few spots she screwed up. Had planned to get in the woods, but ran out of time. I did manage to stack the load of split Oak that was in the trailer yesterday, and threw some of the Spruce in the trailer later that I split a couple days ago, so a decent day. Probably won't get back over there for more wood until Sunday, but I plan to get the tractor back over there. That stack is about 3' tall x 8'. I've got a bit more still to split which will more than fill that and make 1/3 cord.
Dave, Really nice looking wood stacks... Nice big oak splits too... I have never burned spruce. Nice of you to help with your family like that.
Fanatical1, I get paid in firewood. Of course, I have to do all the work, but I don't mind. Just trying to get her house in order so she can calm down. She's a "downstater" (AKA hyper), who still drives like she's in the Indy 500. Hard on the accelerator, then slam on the brakes while stuck in a traffic jam. Goofy and not gooder. Drywallers started this a.m., so I may go over later to check out the progress. I'll probably be mudding/taping while she's at work.
They're fairly straight........this is year 7 for those, so I should have a pretty gooder idea how to do it. Glad someone thinks they're perfect. I changed to 12' between the posts....16' is a little bit much.
Drywallers finished today, so now begins the mudding and taping. While they were finishing up, I went into the woods to work on the big Oak. Got a small load out. Might get some more tomorrow if it's not raining, and depending on when I get done mudding. Brother just called to see if I had time to help with a friends playhouse log cabin again. I might try to fit that in too. Somebody clone me. The 2 stumps partially horizontal were knocked down when the Oak went down. BONUS!That's some Red Maple, I think. Worked mostly on the Oak branches, but did cut a few rounds of the Oak trunk and took out about 5 of those. Didn't want to risk popping anything.......again.
Lookin gooder. Sounds like you're keepin' things easy does it with the rounds anyway... Rest of your schedule...
So, I'm getting younger? My body missed the memo. Yeah, the Jeep needs to have a new thermostat installed, mom's car won't start, I'm still working on the stove room.........the list goes on..... A lot of us are in a similar boat.
So, Sunday we got most of the screws mudded but ran out of light and energy. Went over this morning, and did a bunch of the horizontal joints. Went back later and put up drywall in a small room and got most of that mudded, then went home. It rained on and off all day, so no firewood. Back at it tomorrow, and maybe a trip to the woods too, if it doesn't rain to much. This is what I'd like to try to get, but I'd either need the splitter or do some noodlin'. There's at least 3-4 times as much there as what you see, not including what I've already taken from that tree.
