Hey guys been a little while now, I've been super busy and such but thought I'd drop in and say hello!! Got a new puppy last month and she is a handful. Hope all is well with everyone!!
That's Tekayo. They are beautiful animals. We had 2, Meesha was our first and she lived with Tek for about 2 years. Sadly, they are both gone now, but my son has 2, Yukon and Kailaya... so I can get a Sibe fix anytime I need one... Yuke is almost spooky how much wolf he's got in him. Awesome. Have you had a Sibe before or been around them?
... oh yeah, we got some advice... Gonna quiz my bride to see what would be the first things that come to mind... 1. Sibes have to run so... walk them, run them all you can until they've had enough. 2. Crate them immediately if you haven't already. You'll want that later. 3. Get into the new e-collars with remotes or buried e-fencing. It will require time to train them with leashes first, but you'll have a lot more freedom with them if you get into these early. See #1... they have to run, and they will every chance they get. They are masters of escape too. 4. They have a need to chase too. Any small animals, that run, are usually toast. Cats, squirrels, rabbits, mice, etc. If they happen to be on the opposite side of a fence... they'll go ballistic trying to get to them. Meesha got into 4 porcupines with every one being worse than the last. They pizzed her off I guess. Just for the record... they were loyal, lovable, beautiful and smart pets. My son and his wife have trained their 2 huskies to pull. They have a nice sled for snow and a cart they use in the summer. Their huskies are their kids. They're crazy about them.
1. Run/walk her daily and she loves it. 2. She is already crate trained and housebroken (I work from home) she sleeps in her crate every night and goes into it when she wants through the day. 3. For now she likes to be near me while outside and gets worried when she loses sight of me but Ive been warned that this is only a fad. I have been looking into E-collars just trying to find the right one ($$$$). 4. She has grown fond of the same enemy as I, chipmunks. She sits at the screen door and goes nuts when she see them. All these are greatly appreciated!! PLEASE keep them coming
We missed the crate training part and we paid for it. You're already on it and will see how critical that is as she gets to the full grown years. We used outside cable runs when we were at work because we couldn't leave either one alone. They'd rip the house apart. One time, Meesha went out through a screen window, ran around for a while, and then came back in through the window. Took us a while to figure that one out. You working at home will make life with a husky even better. Enjoy. You're gonna have a ball.
Thought she was tryin to help me but turns out shes out for herself! Weighed her this morning and she just hit 30lbs and not even 4 months yet!!
You're gonna have more fun with that baby girl... Bet she's gonna be a long legged runner. She's got nice markings too... perty. You get her from a husky breeder? Were you able to see the mom & dad?
Mom and dad were both tall with long legs. Husky breeder.... kinda this was the guys first go and moms first litter. I have pics of her parents and they both have all white faces so Im guessing her markings will fade.
