no I’m not certain that it’s necessary that it has that. Some are made in Brazil because they have a plant there. No other reason. I’ve bought several from Night Rogue and they were made in Sweden. 395’s and several others have been made in Brazil for many years even though they just discontinued them

I had heard recently that Walker Sawshop has many 395s left but it was the last for Canada too.

Canada is under the same EPA restrictions as us. There are probably some very large dealers and some very small dealers that have some left

Purchasing off eBay is always a gamble but I have had really good luck over the years getting lots of used power equipment via this avenue. Pics usually show how beat up things are on the outside but usually give no indication of the internals.
I tend to only purchase at a price I consider to be what it would be worth for parts.
I also message the seller to ask about the condition and history of the equipment being sold.
If I message early in the auction and get no response I consider that a red flag.
I’ve found that most sellers who do respond to a message seem to be honest (at least in my experience) and the messaging has sometimes opened up avenues to add a buy it now or offer price that eliminates the bidding war. Also I have had occasions where the seller will clue me in to other items they may have and can purchase directly.
For some reason it seems that folks with power equipment seem to be more honest about what they have than folks dealing in firearms who will pass on equipment with issues without mentioning them.

I've bought 10 chainsaws off Ebay in the last year, this is the first one to arrive in only bubble wrap. :(

Making sure it runs (per listing) and will be in contact with the seller. I'll also make sure the tank holds gas since it's broken through the wrap.

That's insane!!! What shipping company took that in like that? Looks like it never had a box!!!

Edit: I don't expect anything less from the post office. I almost won't order anything if the shipper won't send it ups!

Was going to post the picture of the close up of the shipping lable but looks like there's some sensitive info visible.

I hope you do other potential purchasers a solid and leave a scathing review of that seller.

I’ve received several like that from all different shippers. That’s way better than sending it in an empty cardboard box with no packing.

I had a customer send me a 394. By the time it got to me it was 6 separate pieces of cardboard connected together by 6 rows of duct tape total, 2 each way. The mail lady carried it in by the tank handle

I had a saw arrive in a box inadequately packed. One corner was split out and you could look in and see the saw.

Interesting! Ive only bought one saw from ebay years back. Ive bought scabbards that were shipped as is with the label attached.

Hope it turns out okay and not damaged.

USPS, I was shocked when it arrived. I don't think it was ever boxed because of the shipping label placement.

I want some money refunded before I do that. The chain brake broke in half, felling dog (outer one) is bent about 1/2" and the air filter cover was cracked. Otherwise, it is dirty but doesn't appear to have much use.

I know a brown truck driver and once confronted him over the destroyed packages. His advice was to pack sensitive cargo in a sturdy box, with packing and tape it up extra good...

Then...put that box into another box the same way. Now it's ready to ship.

I have successfully used the method for shipping electronics.

A well packed box inside another box is a great way to ship. Not in the OP’s case here, but tight packaging prevents the saw from moving around and therefore destroying the box from the inside out. You don’t need huge amounts of packing, you just need to pack tight enough so that so it cannot move and bounce around inside

I nervously shipped a target rifle to Maine for custom work. I ended up buying a hard case then put that inside a box a another rifle had come in. Unmarked box. I still have it as I've shipped three rifles this way for custom work.

Box inside a box is great. We used to ship motorcycle motors in that manner and it worked well.

Ebay seller refunded $65. This X-torq 365 cost me $268 roughly. Starts and runs. Doesn't appear to have much use looking at the various parts. Thinking about turning it into a 372.
