Much cheaper to ship long distances by rail than by truck....same as shipping to Europe or Asia via boat....cheaper per ton to do that than ship across the country...that is the way logistics works sometimes
what are you taking about?....the ingredients are 100% wood...there isn't anything else but that....they come from Kelowna/Merritt, BC
We are expensive for a reason....but they are a great pellet....people must see the value or they wouldn't support them like they do each year...
Was going to say things, but just answer me this--why do I have to pay more than what people pay thousands of miles away???
Yep you got it.They own/commision several plants back east,Oakies out here are so expensive they are still sitting in the same places they were put.Marketing??
The oakis i have used have been good. The north idaho pellets have been good Neither are long term products here.Ligs have been here since my first pellet stove, maybe not the best pellet at times, but very consistant.Just think-as a salesman-moving into a new area-and telling everyone-mine are the best!!What about last year??What about next year??How about some honesty here.
I have no idea what you are talking about... They are more expensive in NE because of the freight...that isn't a sales pitch...that is just a fact
Fair pricing is subjective....what you think is fair, I might not be able to make a profit at...so I price my pellets higher and then you as a consumer can decide if they are worth paying the extra money or not...that is called voting with your pocket book. Just about every company everyday lives or dies by this vote.
You previously mentioned that the wood fiber makeup can change from batch to batch depending on availability. I believe it was from the thread discussing the Okies that looked like they were a mix of different pellets. So, to follow up badbob question. Is it possible that the pellets from different locations are different from each other due to fiber availabilty and or the vendor that makes them for you. Or do ALL you Platinums get made from the same source? There are theories that there are multiple producers of that line of yours. Is this true?
I stand corrected, But you also forgot to mention that the majority of these mills is slated for export. And up until recently you weren't able to transport to the bagging plant in Upton. Otherwise why would you be using purchased goods from other mills. Little birdy states you were peddling La Crete's in Okies bag's at one point. So, If we don't actually know what is in these Okies bag's? Just sayin.
We get our fibre in and around Kelowna and Merritt BC....and we send them prepackaged to our warehouse in Quebec or in bulk to our bagging Plant in Upton MA. That isn't rumor...that is fact.....
I didn't forget anything...the mill from Nova Scotia currently is selling 100% of what it makes overseas to Europe. The Kelowna plant has product going to Asia, Europe, USA and Canada. This year more of our product will be staying in Canada and the USA...but some percentage will still go off shore. That little birdy needs to put his crack pipe down....
Why do you always assume its Alex, I got this from a lady I highly respect. She hasn't told me hog wash yet. You on the other hand? Maybe you should put down your crack pipe. I think this thread has run its coarse.
I don't think I said any name.....I think I might be done here as well...sorry if the truth hurts Jay.....
You did say his pipe! So who'd you expect me to assume. Honestly, Doesn't hurt me a bit. But thanks for caring!
