Ouch, glad you are okay. I might have missed it, but it looks like you got in between the wedge and the wood, or the stop and the wood? Another thing some people over look is getting crushed on large splits. Say you bust a large round and a few cracks open, if your hand ends up in the crack in the next split, you can end up with the same injury. I pinched the fat of my left hand once from this and it was immediately black and swollen. Just another thing to watch for. Glad you are okay, for the most part.
