33 f outside here at 10:25 pm and 73f inside. I think the ocean is helping to keep us a bit warmer.

He likely has a heat sucker somewhat attached to his stove so the basement is just getting the leftovers. In this case it is most of the heat.

Well they say we are going into the freezer so I best clean the stove today.

My stove got the leaf blower cleaning, and the inside vacuumed and brushed out. Got a few bags of pellets inside. However, I never am wanting any arctic air. I just don't care for it one bit. I don't mind the snow so much, but I hate ice. Too many falls on my fat backside. Broke my foot once. Got a concussion another time. Nope, not liking it at all. Only good about it is I get a chance to catch up on my reading.

Agree completely on the ice thing. I have had more back or leg muscle injuries trying to "catch myself" while clearing the driveway and slipping on ice. Think I'm better off just falling and taking my chances

Just don't get a dislocated wrist, I swear non break injuries are worse than a clean break. I was on the way to the fish market to get some salmon steaks for dinner. Down I went on some snow covered ice. I got the salmon and spent the next day between the doctors office and the hospital, ended up getting it put back where it belonged the following Thursday. Darn thing was in a cast up over my elbow for the next couple of months. Didn't feel right for over a year.

Ice under snow. Darn tricky stuff. You just never know. That is why I keep a bucket of sand/ice melt mix by the door. Toss it out like I was feeding birds. I have a pair of ll bean grippers but seldom think to put them on. Speaking of birds.
With this cold, it is a good tone to remember to keep the bird feeder full, toss some cracked corn for the ground feeders, and put out some suet. I can't help about the cold, but no need to starve to death.

    Welcome to the club Russell!

You'll need to add Cellar dweller for it to be official. ;)
