Barred Owl We have a Barred Owl on the back hill, it's easy listening. If you click on the first one under sound, that's what we've been listening to.
Cool. We have lots of Great Horned and Screech Owls here. Wouldn't be surprised if there were some Barred as well. Whatever, I love listening to them at dusk. Always reminds me of sitting in a tree stand in the Fall.
We have several of them here most evenings. I love it when we're up at camp and a group of them start socializing late at night. Sometimes it's eerie, sometimes it's downright comical! Love to listen to them!
If you practice mimicking their hoot, you can call them in close enough to light up with a flashlight as long as you don't make any "human" noises. It's a fun parlor trick to do around a campfire!
We have a call so we can make the call that sounds like them. We especially love to here them the fall and many times heading to the house after an October hunt we listen to them.
