Bar quality is in the tank

I bought a brand new Husqvarna bar and it was bent. I exchanged it for a different one and had to pick through the rack to find a good one.

I ordered another one online a few days ago for some different chains and it got here today. Guess what. It's bent AND twisted. I'm just going to have to break down and get a cannon bar. At least they care what goes out the door.

 

What style? Maybe there's a bad run of them out there and others will see the bent bars in their area. Maybe you just happened to get bars from 2 places that don't care how they are stored or transported? Just thinking out loud here.

I have a husqvarna light one here that's still in the cardboard sleeve. It looks good.

 

I've had no issues with the Oregon made Husky bars but,, I did switch over to boutique bars many years ago. If you can't afford Cannon, try Tsumura or Sugihara. They are far superior to Oregon/Husky IME.
Were they RSN's or cheaper laminate bars?

 

The first two were laminated XF250. The one I ordered this week is a forester.

I tried bending the first Husky bar and it would flex into a rainbow and snap right back. I stopped before I went too far and just returned it.
The one I exchanged it for was the only good one out of maybe 5 on the rack. It's never been this hard for me to find a bar before, not that I have needed many.
These are the first bars I have seen that were bent from the factory.

 

Get a solid bar and don't look back.

I think small husky and Oregon bars are made in China now. Not certain if they are made under their own quality control at a plant in China or if they are just rebadged. Bigger stuff is different I believe.

 

Either way, I'm not impressed.

I have a couple of Tsumura bars and I find them pretty impressive especially in the resistance to rail wear.

 

Can confirm the K095s that Husky sells now are not as good as the old Oregon bars with their name on em. I noticed that the grease port disappeared at one point but did not put 2 & 2 together.

I have bought 7 bars in the past year. 3 'OEM' branded Oregons and 4 Total/Tsumuras. I had a few new saws take refuge with me during the same time, so I needed some peripherals.

I do really like the Tsumura bars. Looking to get a lightweight 24" in D003 mount at some point. I screwed up and held a light weight bar a couple weekends ago.

 

Can you guys see the bend in this bar? I sent this picture to forester and they claim it looks fine and told me to just run it. I told them I will not run it and they now want a different picture....

Lay it on the kitchen table and take a picture of the sunlight shining through underneath it

 

That's the kind of picture that should prove it. Flat on a table with light showing under. I see the bend isaaccarlson in that first picture though.

 

The glass stove top is the flattest surface we have.

 

Maybe that one fell out of the balloon when they were delivering it a few weeks ago?

 

I'm going to guess heat treat didn't go well for that batch? I'm no metalurgist though. If laminated, could have been during that process. That's real bad QC right there and Forester should be ashamed.

 

The bar is on it's way back and I will be getting a refund.
