RK has the CAM2 oil on sale... 20250618_141257.jpg
We stopped at 1 in VA on the way up to the PA GTG, bought 3 - 3 gal cases and donated 3 gallons as raffle prizes.
Before we left Altoona PA, we went by their new store and picked up 2 more cases...:whistle::whistle:...
So 12 more gallons to our hoard... 20250624_222113.jpg

I overran my storage space fer it and haven't been buying. Still always on the hunt for good deals on winter viscosity.

Same space issue here. I ended up acquiring a couple empty 5 gallon pails with the lids that have a spout on top. They used to have hydraulic oil in them. I filled them up and it took up a smaller footprint, allowing me to hoard more in case another deal comes up

I'm happy with my stock level. Current use rate sees me not having to buy any for minimum 4 years.

    And here it's $18 to $22 per gallon .
So I use used motor oil and cooking oil.
Back in the day . I would buy 55 gallon drums of Chevron RPM bar and chain oil for winter and Rock Drill oil for summertime. At 3/4 to 1.25 gallons a day t and 6 days a week . It was a steady purchase . I think the first drum i bought was $1.75 a gallon in the 55 gal drum .

I set up a commercial account at "The Wood Way" in Fairbanks. They have treated me well. Every time I think about calling Sourdough Bulk rack they are closed. I may need to start buying by the barrel.

I hadn't thought about Sourdough. I'll give them and Crowley a call and see who has a better price. When I had my wood business in Glennallen I would by NAPA bar oil in the 4 gallon case . I would stock up on cases in the fall when they had it on sale and the guys would order in several extra cases for me .

I didn't think about Crowley. The Wood Way sells the Husky winter oil for $26 and I get it for $19. The local Stihl shop it $26 - summer/winter doesn't matter. I haven't seen a NAPA sale on bar oil. Did they have winter grade? They processor uses winter grade year round, I need to see what it uses a month and the cost savings for a barrel.

I have bought winter blend from NAPA here, if I can get it here, I would sure think it would be available up there.

I will see if I can find the number for it.

My local Tractor Supply has County Line brand Bar and Chain oil on sale for $4.99 per gallon. That’s as low as I have seen at my local store. Rural King is at $6.99 for cam-2 brand. Every jug on the shelf was leaking at the cap. Trying to decide if I will return my recent purchase from RK

Ill have to check my local one out. $4.99 is CHEEEEP and so am I! :emb:

I have 7 gallons on hand but could always use more. More is better right?

EDIT: just checked online and its $5.99. Cheap enough for me. Probably stop there tomorrow.
Thanks for the heads up Duane! :handshake:

Wow, closest one to me (Farmington) is still at $9.99, "on sale" from $11.99. Just went there earlier today to buy chicken feed and nearly choked upon seeing their winter oil for just about $20 a gallon. Best deal I've found so far online was through Rural King, 2.5 gallon jug of CAM2 brand for $12.93 ($5.17/gallon) Good thing I won't need to buy more for... a while

Must be the Farmington millionaire discount. Definitely weird, but I assume they'd have to honor it. I think I have about 15-16 gallons which has me feeling more than comfortable at the moment.
