I hope I didn't come across as cranky in any of my earlier replies, I was just trying to show it's hard to find real savings or deals where I am. :)

Remember when liquor was smuggled across the Detroit river? I think I need to smuggle some affordable bar oil the other direction.

Saw it at Rural King on Friday afternoon for 6.99/gal. I'll be going out there to stock up right after Christmas!

Our Rural King had always had Cam2 before, but now they've swiched over to Gard. I was disappointed as I had gone over to stock up on Cam2 on sale at $6.99, because I had about settled on it as a good all-around, all season (affordable) oil. I bought a case of Gard but have not yet tried it in the field. Testing it informally, at the same settled temperatures, Gard runs on a sloped surface quicker, but dipping and lifting a string with a finger tip shows it to be noticeably more tacky than Cam2. Huh.

Anybody use Gard enough to have an opinion?

Why don't you like it? We're using our older 5qt jugs of extreme now, seems pretty thick and tacky to me...

It’s too tacky for my liking. Lots of derby sticks to the bar and case.

I use the thinner oil from TSC as winter oil. I've never understood why "winter oil" seems to be always priced higher than "all season" oil.

I bought a couple of jugs of that on sale once. I ended up mixing it in at about 30% to "tacky up" some of my thinner oil. It reminds me of the Karo-syrup-thick bar oil we used so much when I was a kid in our old Homelites, McCullochs, and Lombards, but it seems the more modern saws do better on thinner oils (which is still hard for me to get used to, after all these years!).

Last jug I got was $12 and I was happy to get that price. Least I've paid for it was $7/gal (Jonsered branding), highest was $15 (Husqvarna branding). Using some Makita winter at the moment. Should have bought more of theirs when I could. Only got a case of summer and winter each.

I put B&C oil in smaller transparent plastic bottles with spouts. The oil bought at RK has sediment in the bottom. Never ever saw any sediment in County Line from Tractor Supply. Probably a non-issue, just an observation. I’ve been amazed over the years what lurks at the bottom of motor oil jugs especially since HD is supposed to keep things suspended
