Got an email from Rural King and 5 FedEx tracking numbers. Looks like they're sending each one separate this time. If it makes it here i should have all I'll ever need.

Used some winter oil yesterday and Sunday. Was 26 ambient Sunday and right at 29 yesterday. Winter oil pours easily twice as much as all season does. I dumped some of both back to back just to see. The winter oil has viscosity of all season when temps are above 60 at below freezing. I do warm my saws. Still prefer the thin stuff in the cold.

I've never used any winter stuff. I poured some all season in my saw yesterday. It was like molasses and made a long sting like melted mozzarella cheese. I think it was around 25 degrees as well.

Both days I was out I was having to rechoke my saws after a short period for restarts. Was only doing a few bucks and delimb but was surprised they didn't stay warm. I didn't really stay all that warm either come to think of it.

Well. As I posted before, I ordered 5 gallons of bar oil from Rural king. Was damaged in transit and returned. Was reshiped in 5 seperate packages. FedEx just now left 4 boxes. I checked tracking on the 5th one. Guess what? Damaged in transit. There was some oil on the outside of one of the boxes. I thought, oh great it's leaking. I opened it and it wasn't. It must have been from the damaged one. I guess I'll wait to see what Rural king says. I'll never do this again.

I’ve done 3 orders of 10 gal of bar oil online shipped from Blain’s Farm & Fleet and haven’t had an issues with damage in shipping. I do know the FedEx guy asked one day what the heck I ordered, and when I told him, he was going to go online and get some as well. Maybe the shipping people are rougher in your area.

IME from the factory they’re pretty aggressive. Once you resharpen them they’ll obviously have a different geometry, but should still hold an edge well. The two that I have left have been converted to square and are what I consider some of my better chains.

Still have a full plus a partial roll of X-Cut 3/8 plus a partial roll of .325. One of my friends will spin me some when I ask.
