Dug up this old thread to add my Good Friday baking on it. Just as these came out of the oven, our daughter, SIL and friends showed up. Now only have a few left to show that it did happen!!!

Today I discovered that the rhubarb was big enough to pick. Here is a pic of the rhubarb crisp I made.

I had some cherries left over from our canning so Campinspecter requested cherry cobbler.

I'm pretty sure it's against the rules to post things like that without recipes attached. I happen to have a few peaches.

Our first Blackberry picking by Campinspecter yields a blackberry pie crumble inspired by Dave Gunter @DaveGunter

Pie filling in the pie shell

    100_2001.JPG

Added ground almonds to my ordinary crisp recipe.

    Fresh out of the oven.

Served it with ICE CREAM!!!!! Oh, was that good. I only got a slice as we had an unexpected family gathering and it disappeared fast.

Woodwidow, it just aint fair to put something like that upo_O Wow that looks good. When I was a little kid I use to go spend a couple weeks with my grandparents out in the country. My grandfather worked second shift so he would wake up early in the morning and get me up to go Blackberry picking. He had some spots that the bushes were so thick and so many berries we couldn't pick them all. We each would get around a gallon and head back to the house where grandma would be cooking up breakfast. Getting a bowl of those blackberries with some cream and sugar poured over them are priceless memories. Every weekend grandma would make from 3 to 5 pies depending on what was in season. No one cooks/bakes like this anymore, well not until I stumbled across the Smokehouse forum on FHC. Keep it up Woodwidow, and don't forget to teach some of those young people some of your secrets:D
