Yes prayers in your time of need. A coworker of mine had this same issue and has pulled through it. You will make it be strong.

My BIL just had the same issues. Surgery and treatment went well. Seemed to be a very treatable type of tumor. Prayers sent your way for a speedy recovery!!

I just cannot seem to catch a break. Ever since I got cut with my chainsaw back in March what the Dr's said was going to be a little thing has turned into far more. A quick trip to the hospital for a few stitches turned into a 4 day stay. A little bump on my neck has turned into tumors. And today what was supposed to be a mild procedure turned into me stopping my breathing and a 5 hour stay in the emergency room. I am supposed to be in our house in New Hampshire, but stayed behind so I can rest up in my own bed. (Katie had a busy weekend planned. I am not up for it).

I cut wood yesterday, wanting to get another load out for the week, but am not sure how much longer I can take the punishment, I collapsed onto a tree yesterday putting a choker around it. I just had no more drive.

Maybe I am whining, but to SOME degree I feel like Job. I know typically after getting a wonderful blessing like Rock the Flock, there is a test, and I am trying to stay strong, but suffering goodness I would like something to go right. The next timeI see the Doctor I get my throat slit...I would at least like that to go well!

(By the Way: Rock the Flock was a Christian benefit concert that brought 350 people and $2500 in donations to Teen Challenge, a Christian based drug addict recovery program. It took place on our farm as a gift to our community because here drug addiction is a HUGE problem. We did not charge a fee to listen to any of the bands. It was 100% donations)

You have an incredible drive to achieve! Tell that voice in your head that is whipping you to work to lay off, you need a rest! Maybe try doing something that meets no goal, just feels good, like a hot bath?

LT... you're gonna do what you're gonna do... but I sure would advise the same as others here and slow down to a crawl for a while, so the rest of you can catch up. Won't do anyone any good if you pass out from exhaustion, with no one around. You need some rest. It's up to you if you need a doc, who charges you $150 for a visit, to tell you the same thing... ;) ... still will need rest.

I got to rest a little bit this weekend because I cannot pick up anything heavy...and everything I need to do seems require a chainsaw! That is because the muscles in my neck have been punctured and are inflamed more, and being so close to my throat, any more stress will stop my breathing. That is what happened yesterday.
As is, the tumors are pushing on my voice box so my voice will change partway through a conversation no matter how many times I try to clear my throat.

I was kind of funny as the nurses were trying to get me to my happy-place and asked what I had for hobbies, and I shrugged my shoulders. They gave me a bunch of suggestions and I was like, no, no, no...finally I say, "I'm kind of a workaholic".

I got some bulldozer work I can probably do today. Just push some gravel around and stuff which should be pretty easy.

Hang in there strong think postive at all times is one of the best pieces of advice given to my daughter.

She had stage 4 breast cancer in one, oped to have both removed and do reconstruction after wards. the reconstruction didn't work well in Wiscons cold winter so was removed just before Christmas 2014. She is a cross country rummer and one year from the date of the dance treatments end she ran a 50 mile cross country and made the whole distance.

She has been running every since except for a short stint of letting a hip heal that devloped stress cracks.

    Please!
LodgedTree #1 on your list should be to listen to the doctor. When you go in for the surgery, being well rested and nourished will pay a huge role in your comfort and time needed for recovery. After a few weeks, the highs and lows of thyroid adjustment will settle in and you will be much more normal. For now, they know best. After you recover, you can go on being all you can be. Prayers that better days lay ahead for you.

Praying for you and your family.

Nothing to be taken lightly but yes if there is a cancer to get, this is the one.

I have several family members that had it. They are doing fine many years since it was addressed.

    Take care man.

I'm with many others in hoping that you can slow down and get some rest. There will always be plenty of work to be done. Take care of you!

I hear you guys on slowing down, I really do. Believe it or not I am a lot better than I used to be. That resulted in a few lost marriages, and while I would like to blame my first wife for being "social" shall we say, it helps when the husband is around too. Don't get me wrong, I have was faithful on my end, but always working.

In some ways it worked out, I did meet Katie in the end, and working so much as a younger personal allowed me to retire at 42 years old, but now it seems no matter where I find myself, there is someplace else I should be. If I am logging I can think of ten farming things I should be doing, and if I am farming then I feel guilty for not logging. And of course there is always the family that needs time thrown in.

I am not trying to justify a vice here at all, but while others may watch football, ride atv's or do woodworking, for me working on my bulldozer is nice right now because I don't feel guilty doing it. I love to work on it and keep it maintained, but it always seems like if I am, I should be doing something else. This weekend there is nothing else...well accept for getting some stuff ready for that Forestry Field Day that we are hosting on Thursday. That is not anything big though...
