Some cities have some residential areas zoned so that it is even prohibited to park a commercial vehicle in your homes driveway. There's a few cities near me zoned similarly .
I work for the local city and a couple weeks back I ran across the city engineer getting ready to hassle a resident for parking his semi tractor on the street in a residential neighborhood...I have no idea if there is an ordinance against it or not (not, that I know of) The poor guy is only home with it about 1 day a week, so its not like its there all the time
Same here in certain neighborhoods. I believe commercial vehicles are only allowed in front of residences 8am-5pm and possibly only a set amount of time.
In my town, there is no on-street parking allowed overnight. You can apply for a temporary exemption, if you have guests or driveway sealing, but if you park overnight you run the risk of a ticket, they don't catch you every time. But it seems like whatever you park on your lawn is OK, although I bet there is some limit on unregistered vehicles.
People are very avoidance of pain oriented. I too have the bad stupid inconsiderate jerk neighbor problem. Also had a lazy city cop problem, not wanting to deal with said neighbor. I didn't really care what who thought and became very painful and ended up with a lot of neighbors happy with me. Tried talking to neighbor multiple times, no help. Called city cop multiple times, no help and was told you are the only person calling so I think it is just an issue you two need to work out amongst yourselves. GLOVES OFF! Went and told chief of police what was said by who and informed him you will be getting calls, many of them, and you don't want me handling things because I've seen me handle stuff before and it is not nice! Went and stopped at every neighbors house and enlightened them. For about a week I didn't make a call but sure enjoyed seeing city cops make daily and sometimes multiple visits for a week. Things have gotten much better and issues are handled quickly!
Thats a bad situation Midwinter and hope it can be resolved. Fortunately I've had a bad neighbor only once for a short time. Nasty way to live. Good neighbors are super great to have, especially if they they are 1/2 mile or more away from you!
He's at it again. My complaint got forwarded to the wastewater treatment dept., but I don't think anyone came by.
I went over there and told him I don't want his grease in my driveway. He says it won't happen again. Ha. Those are my pigs I put down.
Print those pictures out and gave them ready to show anyone who cares. Bring them to the town'so board of health. They can't ignore what's right in front of them. If no satisfaction, take the pictures to your selectmen. If drill no satisfaction, there's always the "I-Team" people at any one of the media outlets.
He went out and pushbroomed his wastewater away from my driveway, and spread it all over the street. I looked up the name, phone, and email of the city employee in charge of food trucks. If I talk to my neighbor again I might drop her name.
Well, he got the message that you're not happy with his behavior. Like you, I wouldn't rush to the "authorities" unless it continues, in which case, "you can't fix stupid".
He doesn't clean out his truck very often, like, every two weeks. So we'll see what happens next time.
