The customer did receive a broken-out statement. What we shop fabricated, I had already "written-off" when I sent him the revised statement. The other items were listed and installed on-site, in his house, while he was there. As far as two guy's on-site, not easy to install custom handrail on a stair with only one guy doing all the work. The stair was a custom wood job, hand hewn log post and treads, 3 stringers and a mid-landing. A few twists and bends to it, was surprised they got it done so quickly. This guy just wants to be a bully and I'm done with that behavior.
I also haven't had a bad day in quite some time, at a pretty early age I've realized what happens happens isn't a single thing you can do to change what already happened, just learn from it and prevent it from happening again the best you can that's all you can do. I used to get super pizzed off over stupid little things until it one day just hit me, why bother? So stuff doesn't get to me much anymore. Just people around me who make the same mistakes and complain to me about it. LEARN FROM IT PEOPLE! That's my rant Besides if a day gets that terrible its nothing a little. Won't fix!
I appreciate the kind words Rotti. A few guys here know what my life us like and now this thread does. This was supposed to be a short term gig so my wife could go back to school to get her JD. Well it's a year later and starting a practice from scratch is no easy thing either, so I'm hanging tight until she gets her feet wet and can consistently $ contribute. By no means is this about making too much money, it's about ours heads being above water. I don't see this lasting too much longer. For now it's what creates my bad moods.
I get peed off when I try to park the van and there is no handicap spaces available. Hard to open the door wide enough so I can get out. I have often sat in the car while my wife went shopping. We are both disabled. I'll see young people pull into handicap spaces, step out of their car, then rush into the store. They have the placard but it isn't for them. No teeth in the law and no enforcement.
Oh, it is all good. I'm going to the MIL's today for dinner and watch the Pats game. It's the next 24 hours I worry about. Not to beat your recent job issue to death, but I've thought about it since you posted and wanted to say a few things. At work we use a lot of outside contractors. Plumbers, electricians, fire sprinkler fitters, etc. Most of these guys run a two man truck. Usually the licensed guy and an apprentice. The nature of their job throughout the day mostly requires two guys to complete work in a timely manner. They also work on high ladders and lift heavy equipment, so their safety is important. If we need a service call, there is a good chance two guys show up. That is all there is to it. We have contracts and we know their billing rates. Anything that needs estimating will get one, and also a clear contract to go with it. We are pretty selective on who does the work, and having the top guy on site is good in my book. So good luck with that guy.
About the only thing I get peeved about is when a person shows a complete lack of consideration or respect for another person. Sorry for your troubles savemoney
Guy sounds like a jack-a$$. Too bad you couldn't see it before it all took place. Did he think he'd get it for less than what he was told???
I think change is hard for anybody, your a winner, keep the good work up New beginnings are exciting, run with it girl!
