When camping and in a pinch at home we use an aero press. Makes a decent cup in a pinch.

My COVID gift to myself was a stainless steel double wall insulated French press. Even camping we use the French press but the glass beaker gets cold fast and is breakable so yeah, upgrade.

Probably shouldn’t discuss the obscene amount of coconut oil that gets whipped into my coffee in lieu of breakfast.

dammit! Because of this thread, I told myself I was going to break out the percolator this morning. I forgot, and this thread just reminded me again! Oh well.

I was really dragging yesterday afternoon and realized the coffee she made was the bag of decaf. Being a lifetime coffee drinker i guess i dont realize what the caffeine does for me. I average 3/4 of a pot daily!:coffee:

    1) shameless plug for Cumby's. $.99 any size, iced or not, variety of sweeteners (from factory created chemicals to honey), flavorings, milk or cream, flavored chemicals/creamers.
Tossed my cumbys club cardwhen free coffee Friday was not open to the average bear, or the card holder, just the app users. Gas is cheaper elsewhere, but no free coffee as they've done for years, frosted my something.

    2) have used stainless steel percolator: made coffee on the flat top, coleman stove, current gas range, campfire, and wood stove maybe someday. Power can go out, still have coffee.

    3) i like the idea of coconut oil....a good raw (real eggs good) egg, beaten, and pinch of salt works well. Steadily use heavy cream, 3% lactose.

    4) quit drinking high test a few weeks ago, to avoid stomach ulcer. Working long shifts and some nights, I thought id be a gonner. But I dont miss it, been enjoying decaf for 8 weeks, and am sleeping better. I can settle for a catnap, and feel good after 10-20 minutes.

All our coffee is from a percolator, camping or at home. It's the best. :coffee:

Aerobie AeroPress is my every day morning routine.
Some people claim to reuse the paper filters, some multiple times. I'm frugal, but not that frugal.
I did the simple pour-over as well before I got the Areobie.
I tried the cheapest Keurig coffee maker ( B-30 or something like that) and it did NOT make a good cup of coffee.
The pour-over still gets used, just for the last bit of my home-made grape juice, which can be a little gritty at the bottom of the jar.

Nah, ya beat the egg to a froth. Two even.
Egg goes in the cup, coffee after that, and a pinch of salt after that.
Coffee right off the boil will cook the egg, so I let it cool a minute before pouring.
Deff go for fresh unadulterated eggs, the eggs that one can store on a shelf (not in a fridge).

You, sir, need a larger cup for your coffee!

We make a full pot. She drinks a cup in the morning. I have 2-3 (these are 12 oz mugs) and take the 3-4th with me. There is usually a cup leftover that is still in the pot. That is my coffee to go or ill have the rare evening cup. Years back a dunkin XL "great one" was my daily go to. Rare that i stop for one during the day.

Dunkin Donut coffee tastes nasty. At least in my area anyway.

Does your French press being double insulated keep your coffee mice & hot? If so would you share the brand & where you got it? Thanks

It was my stand by for years. They started using flavors shots in the French vanilla and the taste went downhill fast. I quit them a few years ago and a Cumberland farms .99c works for me.

I have the bunn coffee maker and only get 3 mugs of coffee out of a full pot. If 99 doesn't have any coffee, I'll get 3 1/2 mugs.
