The area of our property is so irregularly shaped & has so many trees, stripping is not a practical option. However, it can look nice!

I'm waiting for the post with a maze, or other geometric design mowed to wow us with.

What are you guys running for air pressure front / rear? I am still ripping up,the lawn a bit but think my rears look low, no book so not sure what is recommended range.

20 rear 30 front, want to try 15 rear, 10 was to low. remember to check blade height with air adjustment, mine moves about a 1/4 inch. tearing the grass a little is just something with zt's, it took me a while to accept it. if it is slightly wet/damp it gets a lot worse.

My fronts are about 20 psi. The rears are about 12. I like them a little squishy. As big as they are, they act like shock absorbers. The front has some spring suspension, so they can be a little harder.

Should never need more than 12. Depends on the tire size and ply rating. Typical 24x12-12 turf skins usually like 8-10psi. They should look pretty low compared to a car tire. Try not to turn on a stationary wheel and it will do a LOT less damage. If you really want to get anal, drive through a puddle on asphalt/concrete and evaluate the tread pattern you leave behind. You want a good clear print across the tread. Add psi if the middle is light, subtract until the shoulders print clearly.

Run the fronts at the max rec. Psi printed on the tire sidewall. Better yet, swap 'em out for foam filled at the first opportunity.

Running too high of psi in the rears can do more turf damage than you'd think from wheel spin. I still have weights and chains on my little lawn tractor, doesn't leave so much as a scuff, even on the hills.

13 in the front and 8 in the rear, for years. No problems, good cut and ride.

So I got to ask cause I don't know. When mowing with my ZT do I need to overlap passes? I used to overlap by about half with the old Wheel Horse and than almost the same with the half worn out walk behind. Also DexterDay you built your own striper correct? Do you have a thread about it?

I only overlap a couple inches. I put the outside of the front tire just outside the line of my last pass.

I also only overlap a couple of inches. If hold a straight line, yiu don't have much to worry about.

As for the striper? It's just a an old rubber bottom floor mat. I cut it so it hangs a few ices below the back of my deck. Then I just zip screwed it on the back.

I can try and get a pic tomorrow, but any thick mat, rug, or mud flap will work. Just make sure it's a a couple ices below the back of the deck, so it "lays" the grass over

All right so I've mowed a couple times with this thing. It's definitely faster but here's my question. My yard is rough to say the least. It seems like I have a lot of lines. Not really scalping but a definite difference in height in spots. I'm pretty sure the deck is level or real close. Anything you guys can think of to fix the issue?
