    A few years ago this bruin used to sleep behind my house just inside the tree line, about 30 yards off my deck. Always fun taking two German Shepherds out at night. One would think you would send the dogs out to see if it was safe for people. I always went out first to make sure it was safe for the dogs.

    Never saw him during the day (or he would have filled my tag that year) and he disappeared the following year. I believe F&G may have trapped and relocated him as he was getting into chicken coops down the road. Estimated at over 500#.

    A fact of life here in the past few years, too many deer and black bears, fewer and fewer hunters.
    Prosperity ? Kids online ? Locals would hunt our woodlands and abutting lands every year--long guns, bow, black powder.
    Never hear any firing for the past few years. Sad.
    Now we have to have "unwelcome mats" around well secured trash cans for bears.

    Not much large wildlife in U.K. but here’s a Buzzard from the other day and a lesser spotted Woodpecker in the tree today.
