If you like the grip safety consider a Springfield XD. A full size in 9mm has pretty light recoil...but I've never shot a .32 so I can't compare.

They're very gentle mannered. A great choice for a woman. We still have my great grandmothers .32.

Just looked up ammo for 32 ACP. With a 60-75 grain bullet I bet they are easy to shoot.

Yep basically between .380 and .25acp.

It's strange cause .380 been around a long time too but I think it got a bad rap in Saturday night specials made out of cheap pot metal not being able to stand up to abuse and breaking where the .32 mild round didn't blow up the cheap guns.

Do what you gotta do to be safe, lots of weird things going on out there these days. Better to have a gun and not need it, than to need a gun and not have it. My wife is now armed around the house. Heroin addicts are going to rural areas looking for houses to break into. Not likely to happen here, but one never knows.

:hair: Supposedly heroine is here too o_O I have no doubt that creepy guy was on drugs. Also, we are VERY rural, lots of vacant/abandoned houses, campers/cars/etc. Funny thing is, our last home of 21 years was "rural" but only 10 min from town on the upscale road in the neighborhood with all houses a minimum of 2 acres apart. Here we are WAY further from town but most plots are 1 acre so I actually feel safer here with neighbors so close. I am so fortunate to have excellent neighbors here!

I totally agree, need to be armed just in case. I always have the heavy revolver here if I need it, but ummm, it wont fit in my purse and I will not carry it around since it fires so easy and so heavy (pulling the trigger fires it, does not need the hammer clicked back). So I have that one plus the other smaller one in the bedroom (9mm?), I am not afraid to use either of them if I need to. Both of them practically knock me on my butt, but I know if I was in a bad situation I would not feel the kickback til later. BUT, I'd really like one that I can handle with confidence....

    Awesome your wife is armed!!!!!!

You are correct. When the adrenaline dump happens, you won't feel the gun go off, and the noise will be minimal. Firing indoors may up the noise some, but it beats being worm food.

Practice with it, get a good holster ( not a 20$ nylon uncle mikes), and keep it on you or your purse at all times.

I'm sure www told you all that stuff :)

Stay safe, and keep your situational awareness at full tilt.

I think my dad can get me a good one, he works at Magpul and they sell accessories to employees.

Gunbroker is good. watch your shipping fees and know what your FFL charges to transfer . ..the latter is around $30 give or take $10.

Armslist is the like Craigslist of guns. it's an in person type deal. the add is online and meet in person.

good for you wildwest... my 11 almost 12 yo.. who weighs 140 is now OK to leave alone at house for less than an hour at a time.. with lady.. German shepherd.. she got her 12 gauge pump lesson.. lady is a great door bell.. our doors are full glass... she was taught the steps.. call dad.. I am quicker than 911... lock door.. back up ... make sure lights are on.. if they mess with door warn while taking safety off... had her shoot an old door so she would see what it would do.. as a landlord I got old doors for this type of training... she still closes her eyes when pulling trigger.. but hey it a shotgun accuracy at 10 feet is not critical.

I just believe your great husband knows you... your limitations.. and what will work for you!
