Got mine checked out and all is well with the metal, thank the Lord. Especially after that one bad fall where I was scared that I'd really screwed it up.

Same here , Titanium it is.

They did give me the option to take them out if I wanted after I healed up or leave them in , needless to say I left them in.
Figured if they don't hurt or bother me why go through that.

Besides it increases my scrap value when I kick the bucket.

After I healed from my bunion surgery, I found that the screw they used in my toe joint protruded a bit and it hurt when I bumped it. Transmitted the cold as well. I had it taken out and it has been much better since then.

Been laid up a couple of times in my life. Always good to get back after the firewood. Good health in the future.

The very short version of the long back story is, I was born with feet/ankles that are prone to rolling over. After 50+ yrs of many, many ankle sprains I'm getting bad arthritis. In July, Ortho surgeon "did some serious carpentry" to get my foot into a better alignment and the rebuilt some of the ligaments on the outside of my ankle. I was 6 weeks "no weight bearing" and 6 more weeks in a CAM boot. It has actually healed up really well an my ankle pain is way better now than before the operation. Hope to get a couple years out of this operation before I need an ankle joint replacement.
