Unfortunately I have the story parents dread to hear as well. Back when I had my first house I had a Timberwolf stove bought and set up in October and it was finally getting cool out to burn. My daughter wasn't much older than your son. I had the stove lit but also had the kid gate on delivery. Even then I told her HOT and no. I ran to the kitchen to put my plate from dinner on the counter, turned around and my daughter comes flying around the corner where the stove was and the kitchen. I knew it even before it happened and the look on her face as well. Her poor hand.

Those flames are pretty to watch behind glass. :( I'll never forget the drive to the UC. She remembers that lesson pretty well today too. The gate afterwards was a worthy investment for anyone who has kids, dogs and cats who don't learn and more.
