Cash Larue the pics look refreshing. Not sure if Im ready for snow yet. I have grown tired of the humidity and the AC constant running. So Im ready for fall. It is my favorite season by far. The other seasons I get tired of after a bit, but not fall. Spring is my least favorite. Especially early spring. Mud is a PITA.

Definitely not ready for snow but I'm sure ready for the heat to break. The remnants if IDA have really cooled it down today. Currently 68. With 3-6" of precip, I won't be moving wood anytime soon either. Won't be long though.

Thanks for asking Dennis. Getting better but still a pita. I can put some weight on it but not much.

Breaking a leg definitely ruined my summer.

I’ve heard a bunch of you guys talk about “mud season.” Is that spring? We don’t have a mud season here I guess. The ground here is crushed granite, so it drains as quick as the snow melts.

Mud season can be anytim in Winter when temps go above freezing during the day and the ground thaws a bit. Traditionally its when it warms enough and the frozen soil turns to mud. Not my favorite time, especially if i get stuck in it! Youll hear me mention in my threads about frozen ground to drive on. Its become a luxury in the last few Winters. Rarely will i drive over a partly thawed yard to retrieve/deliver firewood.

Well......I was climbing over a pile of wood when my foot went in a hole at the same time as I fell over. Snapped the tibia and split a joint in the ankle apart. A few screws and plates later and i watched the summer go by.

Yeah it was a real bummer for sure. Can't really complain as people have to deal with much worse things.

I lived in Trinidad 1973 to late 1975 and I remember jeeping in the snow in the mountains just west of us in late August. Beautiful country! Been back a few times.

That instantly reminded me of that guy who cut his arm off with a dull swiss army knife when it got pinned by a boulder. This guy.

I'm glad you are on the mend. Was there someone there to help you?? If you posted about the details I missed it.

I was alone but after an hour of not figuring out how to get up i called my son and he came and helped me out. Was really hoping that it was jus sprained so my son helped me prop it up so I could do some welding. When it happened I tightened up my high top work boot and that helped me a lot. After work I couldn't get in my truck my wife was called and all hell broke loose.
    Still feel so stupid.
