Buddy was all pumped to borrow a friends atv for an ice fishing trip last winter. Started all day long at his house we got to the lake 4 hours north and nothing. It was al least -10f. The next day he got it started and drove it out to the fishing hut. It would not start to go back in. We put the shelter over the quad and ran a buddy heater it started a few hours later. Figured it was a temp thing. That was the end of the trip we loaded that night. In the morning just for chits and grins we hit the button to start it and she fired right up it was much colder than the previous days. If it’s got T*ts or tires it’s going to cause trouble. Bogie wheels count as tires.
Merrienville? Or Majestic in Bradford? I’ve riden Majestic it can be scratchy as far as other riders. I’d love to check out Marrienville, actually just had a friend give me a map for the trails there.
I love riding marienville (you can ride about 80 miles there). But Potter county has a lot more area to ride now. Check out Crossfork, Germania. Little Grand Canyon, Potato City, Coudersport. Trails extend into Wellsville NY, Mama's bbq.
Just saw this thread. We ride about every weekend. A quick trip is 100 miles for lunch. Good day is 300. Got my new machine April of 2020 and it currently has about 3500 miles on it. Heading Monday to a place called Quill Hill~Rangeley, Maine – Breathtaking 360 degree views Pretty neat place he built. Good views. We have a few miles of trails here in the state. I’ll post a photo of the main trails and my machine. Don’t have many other ones but I’ll get some Monday.
Here is my 2007 Yamaha 450. It just rolled over seven hundred miles this past weekend I use it for working on our trails, firewood, deer hunting, and getting the spear house out and early ice, and miscellaneous chores. I used it at camp to move the outhouse over the new trench this past weekend. When chained to a tree the winch really pulls.
New-to-me Grizzly. Ran hotter than I expected, and I decided to figure out why. It is 80% plugged with dried mud. Took a lot of spraying to get it all out.
That's a good PSA for anyone with a water cooled ATV...clean the mud outta your radiator...or at least check it sometimes...even weed fuzzies will pack up and catch a lot of dust. If you hear the fan running more than usual, probably time to blow the radiator out.
Buy yourself a Radiator Genie and use that but before you use it, soak the rad down with a mixture of Simple Green and water. That Rad is fugly.....
My farm tractors get their rads cleaned every night when I get home and sometimes in the field too. I use a HF Bauer 20 volt shop blower to clean them. Fits behind the seat and really blows. I use it to blow off the knotters on the square bailer too. Great tool and worth 40 bucks. Our Kubota side by side has a removable screen in front of the radiator you can take off and hose out.
Yup. It was time to move it over a new hole. This new one is 5’ deep dug with my friends mini back hoe. I just rode the ATV during deer camp last week and changed the battery. I am all the way up to 749 miles now!
Oldest and I were on our Summits ditch banging have a great time I made a jump into deeeeeeep snow and must have sucked some powder into the carbs. Didn’t run right for the next few minutes, so we went home on his Summit and got the Scandik and sleigh. Got her home no issues.
I still own a '83 185s, recently got it trail-worthy again. This thing is a blast to trail hop on. I mainly use it for scouting out my next trees to be cut up, then my Big Red comes back out.....
