Watching tonight's Ax Men. There's no way this show isn't scripted. Oakes flipped a truck with a bulldozer. That would be felony property damage.
I was saying the SAME EXACT THING when I saw the preview. The shows are very very loosely based on reality. Like a movie "based on a true story". You know as well as I do that an actual reality show on logging would attract far less viewers. Personally I end up fast forwarding all the scripted drama. An hr show takes about 15 mins to watch.
I still watch it cause I started the series when it was good. But there is way to much equipment smashing and fighting and yelling to remotely be real.
It's interesting to watch West Coast Logging...but they pass it off as they're really mad at each other and they're getting even. You'd be in jail for those antics
Reminds me of Ice Road Truckers... "It's 178 degrees below zero and the truck is barely hanging on. The metal is about to snap. If they don't make this 130% grade with 14 million tons of explosives they WILL DDDDIIIIIIIEEEEEEE" Sure it's not a Sunday drive but no need to lie! Or on the logging show... " if they don't get this one last load in before the mill closes the company will be bankrupt, and the whole world will implode"
I checked online and that young Rygaard is worth something like $3 million. I'm not sure if that's from tv fees or earnings, but I think I could get up for work everyday if that was what I was pulling down.
Assisted Reality TV… I would think Washington would be a gold mine… except, of course, those genius folks gotta get re-elected…
Axemen & the gold shows Way to much made up drama now. Not reality TV anymore , just poor script & poorer acting now. Don't get to see much actual felling bucking or log work . That's why the Browning guy quit, he wasn't willing to make his profession look stupid.
I never watched the earlier seasons....I will have to check those out after my busy season ends. I'm up to my neck in tax returns already.
I keep avoiding mine myself. I know your an accountant so u have everyones but I am myown account. I am shying away ffor a strange reason. I have a good bit of deductions this year and I dont want to add im up!!
I watched the first couple seasons of axe men, then gave up. The only person I found remotely entertaining on axe men was Shelby, but his show that spun off didn't do anything for me. Same with ice road truckers. That got too scripted for my liking after the first couple seasons. I enjoyed swamp loggers and American loggers. Those seemed a bit more believable to me, which is probably why they didn't last. Not enough b*tching between the cast members to keep the ratings up. The only long running 'reality' show that I still watch is deadliest catch. Ain't the same without Phil though.
Wild West Alaska was better in the first season. I think the writers are trying to spin things a certain way. It was a better show before I feel.
Is that the one where there are a few teams and they live off the land? They have made so many ALASKA "reality" shows in the last couple years its a bit crazy.
No that is a show where they sell guns and stuff. I did not like it much. Your talking about ultimate survival alaska. This is the third season of that show. Out changes format each year. I liked the first season best. Each team had a camp they stayed in all summer and had to put up wood and food for the winter then were evaluated. The last actually 3 seasons, its in the 4th season, have been more race like settings? Like I said each year the show format has changed and name tweaked a bit.
It's a show about a custom gun shop. It was interesting but now they've added a new woman to the show and they have these challenges where the women trump the men every time. Just like on all tv now where males are made to look weak and stupid. That's the writers coming in and spinning it in a negative direction.
