Needed to do some stacking. Nearly filled up a half cord rack with sugar maple. Room in front for another half cord. Ran some tulip through the splitter to come back home for bundle wood. Still plenty of rounds to split.
I sometimes say the same. The right side detaches at the hinge when I open it and only the left side latches at the top. Ill use a couple bungees on the right when its loaded with wood. Both cables are good. Can be a PITA to open at times.
Split the last of the rounds from this score. All tulip poplar from the last cut back in March. Makes room for some new racks...woohoo! Most of the wood destined for bundles.
Speaking of Asplundhs Caboose I ran into a crew today. They’re cutting on Middle Haddam Rd (151) down near your second home. From there they’re heading east to Gadpouch Rd (state forest) and coming out the other side on Clark Hill rd in East Hampton. If you’re looking for something to do,,,,
Asplundh is a nationwide tree service/land management company. They have large crews of trucks and are a common sight around here cutting/trimming roadside. If I hit it right and have time I reap the rewards of their work. I have the number of the regional boss in my contacts should I ever want to know where they are cutting in CT. I timed this score perfectly as they had just started cutting this particular area and I had more time to hoard in the Winter.
No time to scrounge. You're TP next on my list to cut. No score other than the oak I've been nibbling on for my friend and I...unless I happen upon wood somewhere. Which reminds me...I spied some fresh cut Goldilocks Norway maple when I left the lumberyard last week. Thanks for jogging my memory. Mebbe a saw comes with me tomorrow. They need some wood chips for their yard so I texted her the info.
