It's coming Dave. Not too soon though although rain/snow in the forecast Friday. Looks warm for opening of rifle deer season on Sunday.

People tend to forget all of the winter. Around here they remember February. But December was really warm and January, the first half was not bad either. The picture below was taken in 1/16 this year. It was the last day I cut wood and if memory is correct it was around 30 degrees that afternoon. It did turn colder the following day and that is why that is the last load I cut last winter.

I'm trying to do that, Really trying, but my memories of last winter are all bad, all cold. Way too much snow, Some of the worse records ever! We got whacked, and just when we got back on our feet, we got hit with more cold and snow. :BrianK::shiver::shiver::shiver::shiver::shiver:

Be fine if we had a lot more snow,
but below 10° & little snow on the ground sucks

I'm kinda happy with the mild start. This is the first year I've had a shortage of shoulder wood and so far I'm thinking I'm gonna be ok. (looking to knock on wood, found some)

We don't want it here! I like it down to around 10 degrees then it is plenty cold enough for me. Was not always this way but maybe there is some truth to this thing about people getting cold faster as they age.

2013 was wicked, snow in mid Oct that never went away til May in the sub zero temps. Last year was a bit better (not including the -37*) nights, and this winter is starting out mild too!! I have my fingers crossed for all of us, especially you in the colonial states....

Who you calling colonial? Actually thanks for the compliment, some of us take our patriotic history seriously. From NH, "live free or die". For those who don't know, It's our state motto, on license plates, etc.

Sure is, fly it with pride. Plenty of room in this great country of ours to fly quite a few more. I realized a couple days after I joined that I picked the same avatar as "Greenstick" except his is horizontal. I contacted him and offered to change mine. His reply; "ABSOLUTELY NOT" he said people can see the difference, and he was glad to see another one. That's a classy guy right there.
