    Yeah. He goes to Florida for a month in February. I tend the furnace for him. My mule holds 1/4 of a cord and I'll load 1/2 of that per day. He's got the heat down in the house and the shop's ldling all day

    I still find a little Ash here that is still solid, but it's getting to be slim pickin's... When the standing trees with bark on are growing shrooms on them, you know it's too far gone... We have plenty of other stuff to burn, but I always thought of Ash as one of my favorites. Usually nice and straight when it comes from the woods and splits easy and straight. Dries nice, not that I have to worry about that now... The stuff on the ground is usually damp in our woods and gets punky fast.

    Im hoping to get the rest of the downed Ash we have here out this fall and winter. All of it I cut last fall and winter was still pretty solid and its been on the ground for 5 years at least. Its a shame its awesome firewood.
