Their 1st ''consumer'' saw produced from December 1962 to March 1969. 4.9 cube/80cc displacement a watered down version of one of their more powerful pro engines. Most earlier production had all black fuel tanks but later models in the last year or so they were yellow.
Good to have someone here who knows their stuff. I was surprised to see it was 80cc with a bar that short.
is that a 056? I do know that 075/076 are 111cc,the 070 is 106.5 & the 090 is 136.8 but its called 137....
An 056 doesn't have that style of top cover, it is one piece, more like the 031/032 saws, with the carb mounted down on back of saw below the rear grip handle. I would guess that saw to be an 051 which is 89cc.
It sounds like he rocked his chain and just wants to dump the saw. If it runs well, that is a great price. If he was near me I would go check it out.
That Pioneer P50 could be a bargain, even if the saw is toast that 48" bar is worth the $200 by itself.
STIHL chainsaws collectable real old I don't have a clue about old saws, but this looked interesting.
