I haven't found anything that really helps. My x rays show arthritic cysts. No cartilage. Bone on Bone. MD says he can give me an injection of some kind of cartilage type stuff. It is the cysts that are painful. Need a knee replacement but I have about 90 pounds to loose before they will touch me. Knee brace helps some. make sure you get one that fits right. You can wear it inside or out of your pants. At least with the brace I don't feel the bones slipping back and forth.

Synvisc is one of the injection treatments.

Before I had my TJR on my left knee, I used a rub-on named "Voltarun". Available over the counter,
worked to some degree, but got far better results taking "Arthotec" which is a easier on the stomach anti- inflammatory. I am using the arthotec now for my right knee which is acting up in this weather.
I only use it when I have a flare-up and 1 or 2 pills clear it right up. Most rub ons are for strains and sprains not joints that are getting creaky due to old age or arthritis.
