If I could get some decent outside temps I'd split and stack, but I ain't goin' out there when the highs are in the teens....

Todd, I see a nice break coming for you, double digits! Unfortunately, I see many more of the minus double digits. o_O
Are you going into town to ice skate down the falls?

The next eight days are all in the teens with a low in the single digits. House will stay warm, but we're gonna blow through a lot of wood in that time. I was kind of hoping for seasonal average temps from this point on as I was doing pretty well with my wood consumption.

I was out last Saturday splitting Woody. It was darn cold but I bundled up and it sure felt good to get some of it done. Split at least 1.5 cord. Going Saturday to cut some beech as long as we don't get too much snow. I don't care how cold it is, if I can sit in a tree at 0ยบ I can sure cut wood.

House has been staying extra warm even with these subzero temps. Proves that snow is a great insulator, piled up around the house the roof, etc.

Stove's doing exceptional in this cold...they just burn really nice when it is bitter cold out. I wanted to load last night at about 10:30 or 11 but it was an inferno of red chunks. Finally at close to 12 I put 3 decent sized splits in 1 locust, 1 cherry and 1 red oak. I left the air open farther than normal so I wouldn't have the same battle this morning but it didn't work so I just threw in what I could at 6:30 and got home tonight at 6:30 to a pile of coals and the blower still throwing heat.
