I gotta be close to that, probably even over the ton mark since I was at 27 bags at the end of last month. The P61a used a bag yesterday and the P43 used about 1/4 bag - that is on a fairly mild and calm day.
35 in Nov 60 overall. Wasn't there a thread that had a year to date count?? If not maybe we could start a pellets burned 2016/2017 thread?
Hi Steve, they're a nice pellet! They really reminded me of the CleanFire Pacifics from a few years back. Heat was about 5 (f) lower @ the Heat Exchange exit at a given feed rate vs. the LGs, and they are heavy on the Pine, so some ash cake / carbon in the burn pot was expected, but not bad at all.. A quick soak & clean of the burn pot took care of it quickly. Stove glass and Vermiculite panels in the stove stayed nice & clean. I really had the air dialed up when roasting them, those pellets were glowing bright in the burn pot.. We have to do this w/ pine-heavy pellets to push the ash out of the deep burn pot here. * On a different stove, or if I spent more time 'tuning' combustion air rate, I may have been able to coax a few more degrees @ the Heat Exchanger. It was a busy week, I just roasted the heck out of them. Low fines, consistent length pellets, tended on the long side (1/2 - 1 inch) - a good solid pellet. Dunno if we'll be buying anymore for this season, we've been spoiled by the LGs .. The Francesca stove really likes those here. But the Platinums smell good, my wife didn't have any allergy issues at all, the ladies said it smelled like Christmas in the house between the open bags of Spruce Pointes & Vanderhoof Platinum, and when was I going to run out & get a fresh cut Christmas tree.. This is while we were eating Thanksgiving Dinner - I can't win. The Vandy's are on the 'wife & stove approved' list here.
low was mid 20's - high was mid 40's according to Wunderground history. 950 sq/ft main floor with the P43 on a thermostat set at 68. 650 sq/ft basement with the P61a on room temp / auto and temp set somewhere around 70-72. Obviously I have heat bleeding from the basement to the upstairs. Plus I believe it was fairly sunny out so the main floor got some solar gain too.
