Has me wondering...apple tunes...do those folks download the music or do they stream it from a server? I literally know nothing about it. My catalog is stored on a couple phones, a couple hard drives and some USB sticks. I do still have two CD wallets full of stuff with nothing to play them on. lol

Most everything is streamed, then artists get paid per stream. You do have the option to "download" some so you can listen w/o cell service. I don't store any on my phone but since the wife has amazon prime, we get amazon music. Mostly listen to that in the vehicle. I have a huge collection of cd's that still get played but not as much as records.

I have Prime but have never taken advantage of the music. I usually download a couple new tracks a month and suppliment/change what's available from the phone from time to time out of the catalog. Have entire notepads filled with artists and songs that I would jot down when I'd hear them on satelite radio. I did this for a few years. It's really fun to go back through them and pick out stuff that I had forgotten. Found some really cool stuff on the independent artists channel whatever it was called.
