You'd better jump on anything you can get for $199, if that is what you are looking for.
You won't see any of those brands near that next season.
I doubt you see anything selling for $199 now, at that price in the fall either...
    But... that's just me.

90% of the winter I can burn anything. Actually, 100% of the winter. I've had my house at 75* when it was -16 burning MWP's. Above 25* my stove is pretty much idling. I burn the good chit because it's easier to heat when it's bitter cold.

I feel like it's a waste of money to burn good stuff when it's 20 or above.

Me too sub, That why we got some FSU's to finish off the season. Saving the sets for next season. Even though we only paid $246 per ton for the sets, It just don't seem right to waste em on the warmer days......

I bought 4 bags a couple of weeks ago, when they first went on sale and was satisfied with them. 2 bags went into each stove just after the real frigid cold snap (I burned DF then), and they put out good heat without too much ash. The tonnage is still sitting outside waiting for me to do something with them. They are covered with original bag, plastic wrap and the bags I saved from the last tons I bought, so they should stay dry.

Jeezum - short memory. I bought 10 individual bags beginning of last week and have been mixing them with the ThermaGlo's to help cut down on the freaking ash. Yeah, CRS is my middle name :headbang:

It is true that a Harman will burn anything, but there are still differences between the pellets. I have no problem getting my hands dirty and do it often enough, but while my time is short due to work, helping my 82 year old dad in Massachusetts and life in general, I need the pellets to do more of the work than I would have to do. If that costs me 100.00 extra for the season, its worth it.

Heck I changed my own oil on Sunday when I could have had Wally World do it Saturday night. I want it done right, which is why I maintain my own stove. If I had an oil that would change itself, I would let it.

I'm with you; probably the highest I've seen all season. Even if they are the softies, still a high price.

i guess i find it odd that a hardware store in a rural area of VT would spend advertising dollars in late Feb. what new customer are they hoping to attract with that pricing, considering the state of the glut on pellets and the BBS selling at probably below cost?
