The lowes stores around here are at $3.98/bag now. Seems they are following suit with the HD stores. I was down at the local store last weekend, they have GS as far as the eye could see. Oh, and Greene Teams remain priced at $7/bag.
His prolly didn't , so maybe he's sitting on a lot of product that they'll sell to the oil fields or over seas, but won't cut his dealers a break .
Just at HD and they are holding their prices steady around here. Have a chit-load of FSU's inside the store (they usually only have a couple of open pallets inside). Looking at the haphazard way some of the bags were - either people were picking thru to find good bags, or those were broken out from other skids and hand stacked inside.
I vote picking thru Steve and I did that today many bags were wet on the outside ,no swollen corners ...
I don't know what's taking HD so long to extend the $4 pricing up north. I figured they would do it this week. Maybe next week? Anyway, I picked up some FSUs at HD last week and I have gone through about 4 bags so far. I do like this batch. The heat is excellent. Overall, they have fairly low ash, however over time it does tend to collect in the pot. For $4, I think these were a steal. Now I just wish there was a lowes around here with some SETS, so I could plunder them too! In the meantime, I'm hoping for PD to put on another $4 softy sale, because I would like to pick up some more Platinum Pellets or La Cretes on the cheap. I hope you get a chance to run those Olympus soon, you are really going to love them!
Heck, just get them below $5 would be a start. I think they know people are just waiting for such a thing so they can stock up. Plus, supposed to be cold late in the week and next weekend (plus snow next couple of days), so maybe they are hoping for those things to move the stuff.
I wonder what the weather and low oil is doing to the manufacturers, if they are sitting on a lot of product or if they are able to move it offshore?
