That's a bit of a generalization I would say. Some of it is probably true but I can say myself that I lug 5-6 tons a bag at a time about 100feet round trip without complaint. May complain in 20 years or so though.

Yea generalization, or stereotype.... Just my view from afar as a cordwood guy, i move every bit that you guys do. But i have to C/S/S and move it no less than 10 times per piece. Pellets are far easier and thats NOT a generalization.

But you get to collect saws and play with splitters so it's not so bad.

    No offense taken..
I started burning wood over 35 years ago. Cutting it myself.
    Moved to coal....
    Now using pellets...

I never minded the work either.
    When I was young.
Now, the easiest of all three choices, is the pellets.
(Not counting that little device on the wall that starts
the magic heat machine in the basement, of course!)

I might fire up the magic heat machine tonight just to circulate the system for the first time this season with the cold weather

They are indeed -- Exactly why we now burn pellets after decades of burning wood.

Don't take my posts as anything other than face value. Just realized I might be coming off kinda snotty. I'd love to burn pellets but can't really afford it, I'm a super fancy grade "A" scrounger.

It's ok by me. You work hard for what you are doing. Pellets are another way of burning. For me it was that or being sent to the poor house because of outrageous oil cost. Now, not the same issue, but I am addicted to the pellet burning.

You have beer? Where do I have to be, and when? I'll unload, I'll stack, I'll load.

    But only if there's beer.

yea, we hate those box trucks too to unload...much better with a flatbed where you can get to both sides to unload, no poor ba$tard has to climb back into the truck after unloading a ton, then pallet jack another skid to the rear, climb out, climb back on the lift, unload it, climb back in the box truck.....ugh. We also have pallet jacks and the forklifts as well, evenso, flatbeds are the best!

You'll see the light someday. :whistle:Most of us pellet nuts were once wood scroungers.

Now, If you could stat my wood eater and attach an auto igniter. well I might just jump ship and rejoin the wood eaters club! :D

Seriously have a hard time not pulling over when I see wood down on the roadsides. It like getting my old F-250 past a gas station!! :headbang:
