It's something we have considered and I have a love/hate struggle with. I like TapaTalk, it does make forum browsing easier on mobile devices. (Plus you get push notifications!) But security questions have been raised and there are issues with the free version of the app and advertising. It's been dicussed previously and I'm sure we'll bring it up again when we talk forum upgrades with Scotty later this summer.

The security issues with Tapatalk are what keeps me from installing it here.

There is no longer a pay version of TT.

I have got use to this no TT app thing. But without the email notifications I find myself wanting the app cause our emails no longer work here for notifications.

    Maybe forum runner?

It works but when I looked into it, it was bought by the same company that owns Tapatalk and support was waning for it. Basically a dead app. Not sure if there was a XenForo plug in either.

As phone screens get bigger and more people use tablets, using an app to access forums like this becomes unnecessary. The forum software already compresses the format to fit on small screens and honestly, I think it's easier to navigate than TapaTalk. Tapatalk might be a bit more responsive than a browser but it has nothing on the forum softwares interface unless you have a very small screen. I have an iPhone 5 and if the screen was any smaller, I could see the appeal.

What is it that you are looking for from Tapatalk that the forum software doesn't deliver via browser?

Tapatalk is a app that brings together all your message boards and has functions that integrates it all in a convenient package.
I open up my tapatalk and its all there including this board. When I am logged into tapatalk it logs me into my forums.

Your correct in that this forum looks good in a browser from my phone.

I use TT to access SawHawgz and ArboristSite from my phone. I like it because it eliminates three screens of ads from the top of every AS page and SawHawgz uses vBulletin which is a pain in the rear to use in a small mobile browser.

Fortunately we are using software (XenForo) that works well on mobile devices and there is no advertising to hog screen space. :). That last bit helps a LOT with mobile viewing!
