DNH,. Is there away to get a log truck and trailer on-site to load? I could look into getting a logging truck to haul a truck and trailer load to Rolla. Depending on the price. I've seen several local rigs running return trips empty.

Meche_03 going to be on site all day tomorrow (Saturday), come on by and I’ll load you up. Had several friends over there cutting for the last week they have taken at least four or five 24’ gooseneck loads out and several truck loads. I’m hoping to get 20’ish cord out of there tomorrow. As well as a bunch of brush burned if possible. I’ll have both tractor and/or skid steer to load if you can make it by.

We hauled off 8 loads of logs to cut up later and 3 loads of limbs already cut to length. Each load was between 3 and 6 cords. And 5 pickup loads stacked to cab height! I think we had 10 people working almost all day, this should get 5 families all 2-3 years ahead!, I had the bush pile burning for 10 hours as the tops were cut up I’d haul brush pile away the grab the logs and load them with the grapple. I set aside 5+ cord of nice logs for my use. Still have probably 10-20 cord to go.

Couldn't attach a photo to the last post so here they are! Once CSS how many cord do you think are on this load? I think this is a 25’ trailer

Glad to see it not going to waste. I'm 600 miles away for work. Won't be back until last week of March.

I know I'm late to the party, but is there any left. It looks like my job in TN just got shut down by the Governor's executive order to stay at home and close all non essential businesses.

I bugged out over a week ago and did spring break sheltering in place on the farm.

I’ll let you know tomorrow, I’ve had several people cutting over there, I know there was a couple big logs most people did not want as well as a bunch of stump cutoffs 20” long.

I can get you at least 1-2 cord from what I was keeping for myself to cut up over the next couple years (I’ve got plenty). And if you want to cut up bigger stuff 25-35” diameter you can get at least 2-4 more cord.

Big stuff is fun. I appreciate the offer from your personal pile but I can make big stuff work. Just have to noodle cut if needed.

Have to see if my wife let's me leave the farm. I've been a shelter in place dad for 2 weeks now. I have to till the garden soon and expand the chicken coop.

This scrounge may not be in the stars.

Don’t worry I’ve got plenty! I added quite a bit more to my personal pile! The big ones are larger than the one my hat is setting on, I’ll likely have some of these sawn for lumber. And they are 20-24’ long, skid steer (50% lift capacity of 3500 pounds) would not even lift one end of the big one! 5129EC0A-4A88-4DD7-BBAD-ACD7915CD8B6.jpeg A5BB4032-5353-4828-AB85-B1B20AC026E6.jpeg

Well finished the clean up, most of the stumps are ground out (Vermeer 852 with a 72 HP diesel is a beast!), chips cleaned up, 15-20 yards of top soil to fill all the holes, leaves burned, compost pile started. Got lots of people stopping by asking when I’m opening up and committing on how good it looks cleaned up!

Hired out the fertilizer, seeding and strawing as I was out of time and energy after 8 weeks of 80 plus hour work weeks.

The property looks great now, like a park! That grass should get plenty of sun. Can you take a breather now, with the shutdown?

Midwinter no rest for me, I’m considered essential so I’ll keep working 60 hour weeks until I can hire another doctor.
