If I knew I would have time I would have you push it aside and I'd come mill some of it in a month or so when I'm done on this job. I like poplar for boards since it has a nice grain and is easy to work with and not real heavy.

    That is a big one.
I'll have to get a pic of one over at my buddy's place - thing is growing on the edge of a pond, it's ~4' DBH.
I've cut a few here that were blocking sun off the garden and the growth rings were 3/8" - 1/2"....fast growing yes.
Makes good shoulder wood and kindling

That's a lot of wood to handle right away. As for the tulip (yellow poplar), get it milled if possible. Too bad there are not some members on here that could help you out on this one.

Thought I would update this a little. Been cutting on this poplar.

Put the 28" bar on the MS 440.

I was happy with this cut. The limb was hanging over the livestock waterer so I notched it and it swung over and missed the waterer by about 1.5 feet. Looks closer in the photo.

I kept some but the rest is going away on Monday.

Unfortunately no, and it was 90 as well.:DI tucked it away in rounds in the barn. I will split it this winter for 15/16. It will be bone dry by then.

On another note posting free wood on CL is an adventure. :loco:  Posting a pic of it bucked up got people jumping.
