He's ok but damm dude just get to the point I don't need an hour long sermon and a bunch of gibberish. I know he had somewhat of a hard life and made some mistakes in the past though so I totally respect how he turned his life around.
Those things really work good but only if you us one while splitting some of that highly valuable walnut.
I’ll second that. And despite the convoluted way he gets his points across, he has contributed significantly to the online saw/firewood/logging community, helping a lot of people in the process. So I don’t want to be too harsh in critiquing him. Still, that axe is way over the top
BTW, I like guitars. I have more than one. I do not know of high end axes other than this one but I would think it would be like knives. Have you guys seen the prices on high end knives? Apparently, there is a market for high-end stuff. Now to include splitting axes! I would love to know that that thing is absolutely a monster splitting axe, I'd feel better, lol. As for guitars, IMO, there can be a hugely better difference between a $300 guitar and a $3,000 guitar. Even though I own both. But a $30,000 guitar I really don't think it will play much better. But they can certainly LOOK better. The bling, the amazing wood quality, workmanship, detail, it can be over the top, based on pics I have seen. This splitting axe appears to be very high quality. I am just curious about performance. When I get some time and if I remember it, lol, I will consult youtube! One final thought... vehicles. My gf runs a leasing company, lease all kinds of equipment, boats, airplanes, but to include a lot of vehicles. It is amazing to me how many people there are in a nice size city who will own (lease) a high end car. Maserati, Rolls Royce, Bentley, all kinds. She'll mention something and I'll ask how much did that cost and I am continually shocked. But that's not the half of it. Many of these people will not have one, they'll have multiple. One guy just sold four Porsches that he's had for years and got tired of them and bought something else to start it all over again. Obviously, wealthy people. Back to the splitting axe, that really isn't for wealthy people because they aren't going to swing it! Kinda fun stuff to yak about. As for BBR, I do like some of his stuff but can be a bit long-winded. I trust that someone told him his videos need to be on the longer side due to the algorithm. Not sure that holds water anymore. I have noticed a lot of youtubers going from 20-30 min and now are doing more 6-8 min vids.
No, maybe I should start a firewood business there, lol. Nah, it's even warmer than it is here. Speaking of tips, I got a $25 tip on a $100 trailerload the other day. Firewood tips are rare here. Like, very. Maybe one or two a year, lol.
Yawner , just so you are aware, there is a certain Nashville seller that is being referred to here...pretty full of himself and his supposed "premium" product too...self made firewood millionaire, to hear him tell it anyways (all with 1 person, and by hand)
There are things to be learned if you can sit through the rest of the yadda yadda to see them. I prefer creators who do not stress the presenter so much. I click on a video of an abandoned mall explore....I see the face of the guy exploring and talking more than I see the mall I clicked to see. SMH
A wood bullet is just a worn out old axe ;-) makes a bullet shape with a high centerline. Little old 3lb splits better than it has a right to. Probably started as a 4 the one on the left will get stuck, too thin and flat sided cheeks. The council splitter on the right is better and can be great with some grinding. Another good splitter :
I intend to make a bullet from a big cheap 6lb axe head. Fiskars x27 are too concave and flat sided. They just get stuck. The isocore does ok. Falci maul that gets stuck :
This is the borntrager CNC machined fallers axe I think. Wider angle than normal axe, great little splitter. The best thing for cracking open dry hard Aussie wood is…an Aussie block splitter. 6lb. Never gets stuck, doesn’t work in soft wood, just gets absorbs. Narrow bit top to bottom gets into the hard stuff well, but makes handle over strikes more common. I have not tried one of these but I want to grind a maul into one comparison Shazam
