I collected a few dogwood berries last night with the intention of planting them and it dawned on me…. :loco:  Are these the same seeds as what huskihl posted about 3 years ago? According to a quick Google search, bears definitely eat them.

A park ranger was lecturing a group of hikers on bear encounter safety. He said, "when hiking, it's best to wear something like a small bell attached to your shoes or belt and carry pepper spray." The bell jingling alerts the bears you are in the area. He then explained the park has two types of bears. The black bear that is less aggressive than the grizzly bear. He further detailed you can tell if you are in black bear territory, because the scat smells sweeter and contains berries and small rodent bones, whereas grizzly bear scat smells like pepper spray and contains small bells.
