Love the Worm Drive. I have an older B&D worm drive. These saws are beasts for sure.

Dunno, a sticker or Logo molded in, won't necessarily protect you any better, it could protect you just as well, she may Truly be concerned with your Safety, and did the Best she knew, I rather doubt that your MIL, is very familiar with Chainsaws and related PPE. Myself, I would take as true concern for your welfare, unless you have a serious reason to think otherwise.
, I am one of the Lucky ones, not only is my My Wife a Keeper, I feel I got very Lucky with my in Laws, this is our 3rd Christmas without her Father, who I Miss Very Much, but her Mother lets me know every so often how much she Appreciates me. As a Second Husband, that means a LOT to me.

Self gift from today. Been wanting a new wheelbarrow as mine is literally falling apart. Found this one on CL today. Guy was asking $50 but took my $30 offer. Never had a two wheeler before and wanted one. IMG_1622.JPG IMG_1623.JPG

Is there a certification that should be molded or listed into/on the shell somewhere? I never had one before, but since I may be felling more trees, it would be an asset.

It's not a dead Ringer, but looks similar to my Husqvarna Helmet, which does have an ANSI/ISEA certification #, and a UL Class rating on it, my label is inside the helmet, and has a couple wrinkles in it, so it is hard to read the Certification/Classification #'s, so I couldn't compare his to mine, but I still feel ANY PPE is better than not having/using any..

The BEST PPE is right between your ears, and NONE of the rest is any good without that being used at all times.

Some Chaps are also money WELL spent.

As I said, I would give the MIL, the Benefit of the Doubt, and assume that her Heart was in the right place, if there was a BETTER Helmet available, she likely didn't know what to look for, but in this case, I do believe that it is the thought that counts, and be Grateful that she was concerned enough to think to get you PPE, I would give her a HUG and a Heartfelt Thank You, myself;)

Yeah that one kid very similar to my Husqvarna I just got.

Yes look for the ANSI and other safety certs. It's possible that the one you got may be essentially the same helmet?

Will do. As for the MIL comment, she is a great person with a great heart. It was a humorous attempt to ask if this was something that needs to go back and look at something with some certs.

Casper, I’m Glad to hear that you got Lucky with your In Laws too:thumbs:

I have heard of too many that weren’t as Fortunate as us. There are “Mother in Law” jokes for a reason ;)

I would bet that Helmet is just fine, though I do HOPE that you never get to put it to the Testo_O

Casper Even without certs, that helmet should be good to wear while bucking logs. Face shield and hearing protection are good for that kind of ground work.

Never owned any Carlton. I’m a fan of Oregon LGX and Stihl RS. I borrowed a 50” b/c once to mill which had Carlton and it did very well and wasn’t hard on files.

Yeah, and Tommy doesn’t give me any breaks on price either.
The young lady told me they ordered the wrong size. Her loss, my gain. :smoke:
