A good dehumidifer will pull the moiture out of the wood in a pinch. The first year after I moved thought the wood I had cut that year was good.It was standing dead oak but it was wet would not burn well:mad:.I had an idea that if I stacked it loose in basement tented it with a tarp put a dehumidifer next to it would help.It sure did you could hear it cracking. It got me through that first winter and started to learned to start my Hoarding:axe:.

This is a neat idea. I place my 6 month old oak on top of my fire stove to help it dry faster, but I might try this instead.

Alas I don't have a basement. But I keep my wood on a rack in the living room so I might try it there.

be mindful of your electric rate as these are energy hogs. can add up to several dollars per day. still cheaper to burn wood tho!
